چکیده

Friction-related failures are a frequent cause of catastrophic damage in mechanical systems, resulting significant repair expenses and/or production delays industry worldwide. Scuffing is one the most concerning friction-related mechanisms. It characterized by an abrupt failure mechanism, which makes its prediction unresolved today. Therefore, any situ and real-time monitoring system such great demand this contribution supplement to enrichment existing studies on topic. We propose probabilistic analysis acoustic signals synchronously recorded with coefficient friction during real-life experiments. They, simulate specific industrial operating condition cam, cylinder pairs gear teeth. The experimental conditions reciprocating movement stainless steel (counter-body) against grey cast iron body. counter-body was under constant load had line contact from one-directional strokes selected substituted their wavelet spectrograms. Then, diffusion maps computed over several Their corresponding Fourier spectra used as features surface state so upcoming failures. real were identified dynamical behavior friction. Based our approach, it found that can be divided into four confidence intervals, three for steady-state regime scuffing regime. transients between intervals allow estimating proximity major achievement work. first transient took place 5 min 40 s. – 47 30 prior scuffing. second 50 13 proposed has potential since built client server architecture requires minimum modifications commercial machines.

Multivariate time-series analysis and diffusion maps

Dimensionality reduction in multivariate time series has broad applications, ranging from financial-data analysis to biomedical research. However, high levels of ambient noise and various interferences result in nonstationary signals, which may lead to inefficient performance of conventional methods. In this paper, we propose a nonlinear dimensionality reduction framework using diffusion maps o...

Feasibility Study of Real-time and Automated Monitoring of Iranian Rivers using 50-kHz Fluvial Acoustic Tomography System

Acoustic Tomography (AT) technique is an innovative method for real-time river monitoring. In this study, not only the accuracy of flow velocity measurement using 50 kHz AT system which is appropriate for narrow rivers (most Iranian rivers) is evaluated, but also its performance is compared with 30 kHz one which is used in wide rivers. The comparison results showed that the velocity resolutions...

assessment of the efficiency of s.p.g.c refineries using network dea

data envelopment analysis (dea) is a powerful tool for measuring relative efficiency of organizational units referred to as decision making units (dmus). in most cases dmus have network structures with internal linking activities. traditional dea models, however, consider dmus as black boxes with no regard to their linking activities and therefore do not provide decision makers with the reasons...

Real-time acoustic tomography system and the experience of Caspian current sea monitoring

The Acoustic Tomography (AT) systems are used to monitor long-term and continuous flow in rivers, seas and oceans. One of the disadvantages of existing systems in Iran is the inability of real-time/automated measurements. In this study, by adding a raspberry Pi computer to the system and performing the required programming, it was possible to do online monitoring. The data are transferred to th...
